In 2011, Unni made his film debut in Tamil film Seedan, a remake of the Malayalam film Nandanam.
Even though he is a Keralite by birth, he was brought up in Gujarat. Unni Mukundan was born in Thrissur, on Septemas the son of Mukundan and Roji. He is known for films such as Bombay March 12 (2011), Mallu Singh (2012), Vikramadithyan (2014), KL10 Pathu (2015), Style (2016), Oru Murai Vandh Parthaya (2016), and Telugu film, Janatha Garage (2016). He made his debut with the Tamil film, Seedan (2011), which was the remake of Nandanam (2002).
